Senécal joined the Ledjit Consulting team to article for the Quebec Bar and was
hired afterwards. He holds a master’s degree (Ll.M.) in Information Technology
Law from the Université de Montréal.
During his
studies, Mr. Senécal worked as research assistant for various professors of the
Centre de recherche en droit public (CRDP). His numerous assignments
allowed him to study leading edge questions regarding IT Law, notably privacy
and personal data, industrial and intellectual property, evidence, contract,
procedural and international law. He was part of the Research team on Cyberjustice, with which he still remains active. His
participation to CRDP’s scientific activities opened his mind to many original
ideas that enriched his knowledge and analytical methods by including
extra-juridical considerations.
His
master’s thesis is titled « L’écrit électronique ». Mr. Senécal proposes
an in-depth study of the concept of writing in order to determine how law
adapted this concept to information technologies. As a result, he developed an
excellent understanding of the law regarding evidence and electronic documents
management. His thesis was ranked among the top 10% of the discipline and received
an award from the Quebec section of the Association Henri-Capitant. He presented his research results
at the 30th anniversary conference of the Centre de recherche informatique et droit (CRID) of the Facultés Universitaires
Notre-Dame de la Paix, in Namur, Belgium.
